Enabling the Crown and local authorities to acquire land for public infrastructure and services, the Public Works Act is fundamental to the development of roading, public and commercial transport, utilities and the like. To meet increased demand for infrastructure and services, the Act is undergoing revision – with amendments anticipated to be passed before the general election.

Alan Webb KC

Alan’s practice focusses on issues arising under the Resource Management Act 1991 and is mainly concerned with resolution of large scale and complex applications and disputes. Alan also acts on RMA prosecution matters and a range of Public and Administrative law issues. Alan has taken a particular interest in the alternative Fast-track consenting pathway having chaired 10 Panels under the original COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Act 2020. This experience has enabled Alan to be come well-versed in a large range of issues that arise using the Fast-track procedure that will remain relevant under the new procedure enabled by the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024.
