The TLANZ Health and Safety Law Committee has published a submission on the Health and Safety at Work Amendment Bill, currently before the Education and Workforce Select Committee.
Our Health and Safety Law Committee supports the objective of continued improvement to New Zealand’s workplace health and safety system. However, the Committee does not support the Bill’s current drafting, warning that its reforms are driven primarily by economic objectives rather than by New Zealand’s poor workplace health and safety performance, and risk leaving workers with less protection than they currently have.
