Honor Lanham

Honor is an experienced criminal and civil lawyer with particular expertise in serious fraud and regulatory cases.

She represents corporate and individual clients under investigation or prosecution by regulators including Inland Revenue, the Financial Markets Authority, Serious Fraud Office (SFO), Maritime New Zealand, WorkSafe, the Ministry of Primary Industries and Police.  Honor also prosecutes for the Crown as a member of the SFO’s Prosecution Panel and is appointed as counsel to assist the High Court and Coroner in notable cases.

Honor has a background in human rights law and brings this expertise to her work in litigation and inquiries.  She is a member of the New Zealand Law Society’s Human Rights and Privacy Law Committee.  She has worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross and Vice-Chair of the United Nations Committee Against Torture on a pro bono basis.  

Prior to joining the bar, Honor worked as a defence lawyer at the International Criminal Court, consultant to the New York County District Attorney’s Office and as a Crown Prosecutor in Wellington.  

Honor has an LLB(Hons)/BA from Otago and an LLM from Columbia University in New York. At Otago, Honor won various academic prizes and was President of the law students’ association. At Columbia, she was a James Kent scholar, the W Bayard Cutting Jnr Fellow for International Law and a William Georgetti scholar.

Janine Stewart

Janine is a specialist construction, property, and projects disputes lawyer. A sought-after industry commentator and adviser, she is passionate about shaping the construction industry and legal landscape in New Zealand. 

Janine acts mainly for principals and consultants, but also advises other participants in the construction and property industry. Her clients include Metlifecare and Generus Living (major New Zealand retirement village owners and operators) and international corporations such as AECOM.

Mike Lowe

Mike has over 25 years of financial advisory experience and was previously a partner with KPMG.  He now runs his own practice Nautilus Consulting and acts on matters involving shareholder disputes, contractual disputes, relationship property, trust disputes, regulatory matters (for both regulators and corporates) and other contentious matters where quantum needs to be determined.  His work often involves valuation and the assessment of financial losses.  Mike also undertakes investigations involving fraud and financial crime.

He has provided expert evidence for the courts and in other dispute resolution forums such as arbitration, mediation and expert determinations both in NZ and overseas. Mike is a recommended Expert Forensic Accountant and Investigator by Lexology Index and is an accredited Forensic Accounting Specialist from Macquarie University.  Mike is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Public Practice Certificate. He is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
