Are you one of the 3 million Kiwis with KiwiSaver? If not, why? If so, are you getting the best out of it for your current situation? What don’t you know that a bank or partnership accountant might not know, or might not tell you? Do KiwiSaver-related matters ever arise for your clients – if so, how well placed are you to advise?

Our expert panel will address a range of questions, issues and scenarios regarding KiwiSaver, to assist you to better understand and manage your own KiwiSaver journey and assist your clients to do the same.

In respect of KiwiSaver:

  • Refresh your understanding to what extent, KiwiSaver is appropriate, and whom it will best serve.
  • Get a heads-up on when to engage with it (if applicable). 
  • Delve into the pros and cons, including fees.
  • Canvas the alternatives, or add-ons, for retirement savings, including what amount of savings you’ll need. 
  • Improve your understanding of the employer contribution, and how it applies to the law firm context (such as salary packages).
  • Gain insights into the wisdom or otherwise of moving schemes, and how to approach doing so. 
  • Discover how changes of circumstances, such as being out of the workforce, or moving overseas or returning to New Zealand, impacts KiwiSaver and possibly other superannuation schemes.

Jules Riley

Jules is the Head of Growth for the Investments team at MAS, a mutual investment and insurance provider owned by its members. Jules is passionate about helping members grow their wealth and achieve their goals through sound financial advice. Prior to joining MAS, Jules’ career has involved working in investments, corporate banking, and early-stage start-ups.
